New Zealand & Australian Venue Co. is home to some of the most iconic pubs, bars, and entertainment venues across two countries. With a fast-growing portfolio and an ambitious pipeline ahead, we’re on the hunt for a seasoned Area Manager to lead a cluster of venues across Wellington.

This role is for someone who lives and breathes the Wellington hospitality scene—you know the streets, the trends, the people, and what makes a venue thrive in this market. You’re a true pub operator at heart, with deep multi-site experience and a passion for building high-performing teams.

The Role As Area Manager, you’ll take full operational ownership of a portfolio of venues, driving performance, culture, and guest experience across your region. You’ll work closely with Venue Managers to deliver strong commercial results while maintaining the unique personality of each site.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach, and develop a portfolio of Venue Managers and their teams
* Drive financial performance across revenue, labour, and cost controls
* Embed strong service standards and operational consistency
* Partner with central support teams across people, marketing, and finance
* Support recruitment, training, and succession planning across your venues
* Execute local activations and initiatives that connect with the Wellington community

About You
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a multi-site hospitality management role
* Strong background in pub, bar, or late-night venue operations
* Deep understanding of the Wellington hospitality landscape
* Proven track record of leading high-volume, high-energy venues
* Commercially savvy with strong financial and labour management skills
* Passionate about people, culture, and developing future leaders
