Lead Store Associate
Type of Work: Full-Time
Shift Availability: Open availability on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Pay: $17.50–$19.25 per hour
Location: 2495 State Road 7 Suite 101, Wellington, FL
About the Role: As a Lead Store Associate you will deliver exceptional customer experiences, guide and inspire your team, serve as a brand ambassador, and help shape a welcoming, compliant, high‑performing retail store environment.
What You'll Do- Customer Experience & People: Lead by example to create a warm, welcoming environment, coach associates to deliver exceptional service, empower associates to build meaningful relationships, drive consultative selling, foster loyalty through rewards program enrollment, resolve customer concerns with empathy, promote a respectful, inclusive and collaborative workplace.
- Operational Excellence & Processes: Execute opening and closing duties, conduct daily huddles and cash reconciliation, verify customer IDs and maintain accurate POS profiles, ensure inventory integrity, lead inventory counts and overnight audits, maintain a clean store environment, uphold compliance with SOPs, safety protocols, and state regulations, achieve daily KPI goals, stay informed on promotions and product updates.
- Leadership & Team Development: Guide and support associates in daily operations, lead by example, train new hires and conduct ongoing training, provide real‑time coaching and feedback, delegate tasks and act as leader in the manager's absence, support conflict resolution, promote a positive workplace culture, adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment and take on additional duties.
- 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer‑facing or sales environment
- Minimum 1 year of experience using POS systems and cash handling
- Minimum 6 months of leadership experience in a retail environment
- Minimum 6 months hands‑on experience in retail store operations, including opening/closing procedures and cash drawer reconciliation
- Strong leadership and team‑building skills
- Familiarity with retail SOPs, safety protocols and loss‑prevention practices
- High attention to detail, especially in cash handling and inventory management
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high‑volume, compliance‑driven setting
- Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays and occasional overnights
- Multi‑tasking and quick pivot to other tasks
- Comfortable using technology and quick to learn new tools
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills
- Strong de‑escalation, conflict resolution and ability to handle high‑stress situations
- Basic proficiency in mathematics and computer applications
- Solution‑driven mindset when dealing with upset customers
- Ability to support store leadership by taking initiative and proactive approach
- Ability to work across all stations within the store as business needs arise
- Previous knowledge of inventory management and systematic restocking, fulfillment of online and in‑store orders, daily inventory counts and comprehensive audits
- Background in a sales role with a focus on tracking KPIs and meeting sales targets
- Previous experience within a regulated retail setting
The job requires standing for extended periods, walking, talking, resting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting up to 25 lb routinely, occasionally up to 50 lb, and requires close vision (20 inch or less). Employees may be exposed to dust, pollen and plant pathogens and may work in confined spaces. High stress tolerance, adaptability and flexibility are required.
