Space Operations Intern

Join Rocket Lab as a Space Operations Intern to support spacecraft operations across diverse missions, enhancing tools and processes for mission success.

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Implement CI/CD optimizations for hardware testing builds, deployment, and code generation.
• Develop Grafana dashboard generation tools for improved monitoring and reporting.
• Enhance developer experience by improving IDE plugins and internal tools like MAESTRO.
• Optimize internal instruction tools to improve templates and streamline workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including spacecraft design, flight software, propulsion, and ground systems.
• Gain hands‑on experience across missions including LEO on‑orbit manufacturing and deep space exploration.

What you'll need:

• Proficiency in software development (Python, Shell, Linux, Team City, Gitlab pipelines).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a focus on software development.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic environments (e.g., university projects or internships).
• Exposure to modern development practices (GIT, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure) is desirable.
• Experience with hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing is desirable.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand and meet ITAR nationality requirements (citizenship of Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the EU, or NATO countries).
