Operations Manager- (Logistics ,Dispatch, Overseeing Foremen/project managers)
We are a dynamic, fast‑growing organization specializing in heavy haul logistics, construction transport, and concrete services, providing critical support to complex infrastructure projects. We are seeking a full‑time hands‑on Operations Manager to drive the daily execution of our integrated transportation and concrete construction divisions.
In this role, you will lead a team of drivers, manage a specialized fleet, and direct site foremen to ensure projects are perfectly staffed and on schedule. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker capable of balancing efficient dispatching with on‑site project management, while proactively resolving daily operational challenges.
Responsibilities- Logistics & Fleet Management: Direct daily logistics, dispatching, and material hauling, ensuring optimal fleet utilization and maintenance.
- Construction Operations: Oversee concrete construction foremen to ensure timely delivery and on‑site efficiency.
- Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage drivers and field staff in a safe, fast‑paced environment.
- Project Coordination: Synchronize ready‑mix logistics with site project demands to meet strict deadlines.
- Operations & Dispatch: Manage daily, weekly, and monthly transportation schedules and dispatch operations to ensure the timely delivery of goods.
- Driver & Staff Management: Coach, mentor, and supervise drivers and dispatchers to ensure compliance, high performance, and employee retention.
- Fleet Management: Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and preventative upkeep of tractors and trailers to ensure 95%+ uptime.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with DOT, OSHA, and FMCSA regulations, including ELD management, HOS (Hours of Service), and conducting safety audits.
- Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact for key customers, resolving any logistics issues and providing tracking/trace updates.
- KPI Tracking: Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and increase operational efficiency.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in logistics/transportation management, with at least 3 years in concrete, construction, or a similar industrial environment.
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of day‑to‑day logistical scheduling, delivery, and placement techniques.
Skills:
- Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Must be available on the phone at all hours.
- Able to communicate with all drivers, customers and Foreman in a timely and efficient manner.
$100,000 - $120,000 yearly
