Bookkeeper

Location:

Wells, Maine (on-site, hybrid possible)

Hours:

Part-time or full-time, 12-32 hrs per week depending on candidate’s availability and desire

As the Bookkeeper, you will oversee and manage financial data to ensure accuracy for Laudholm Trust, the $1.5M private nonprofit partner of the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Log daily cash, credit, and check receipts to accurately record income daily and reconcile any discrepancies.
• Prepare bi-weekly cash deposits and reconcile to general ledger
• Work with Laudholm Trust staff to resolve transaction information
• Assist in payroll operations
• Track vendor invoices, payments, and overdue accounts. Experience in setting up new Vendor Accounts.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts with internal records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist the President with external audits
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent;
  Associate’s degree or higher in accounting or finance preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Quick Books Desktop.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and client interactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Base Salary: $24-28 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

• Pro-rated health, dental, and vision benefits begin at 20hrs/week.
