Alarm Communications Limited is a leading team of fire protection, commercial security and building management systems specialists. Our head office is located in Surrey and we serve prestigious buildings and landmarks such as high‑end hotels, stadia and educational establishments in and around Greater London. We are currently looking to appoint a new Fire & Security Engineer to cover the M25 area.
You will have a primary focus of taking an on‑site lead in the delivery of fire and security projects, including the installation and commissioning of fire alarm and security‑related systems. This role requires technical expertise and hands‑on involvement in the execution of projects, ensuring efficient and successful installations while providing high levels of customer satisfaction.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading a variety of small to large‑sized projects and who can act as the primary on‑site contact.
Systems vary but are mostly large‑scale networked systems including Gent, Advanced, Notifier, Avigilon, Hik Vision, Axxonsoft, Salto, Assa Abloy, ACT, Paxton, Galaxy, Texecom and Cortech.
Our Engineers- You will work as part of a small and dedicated key‑account support team, regularly collaborating with fellow engineers and apprentices.
- You will focus on a small group of sites, getting to know them well.
- The sites are primarily long‑standing, prestigious contracts with direct end‑user relationships, thus the work must be completed professionally and to exceptional levels of workmanship.
- The engineer will be given time, support and resources to install these systems to the highest possible standards, with extensive training provided to achieve expert status with our primary systems.
- Reporting to the Contract Manager for that area, the engineer will liaise regularly with the Senior Engineer, Service Coordinator and Service Manager.
- Ongoing training and development, with two appraisals per year; many of our engineers have gone on to hold senior roles within the company.

- You will take part in a callout rota with very low frequency (currently 1 week in 17, split week/weekend).
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Fire and Security Engineer with a range of different products and manufacturers.
- Electrically competent; able to carry out safe isolations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Experience with installing, commissioning and maintaining systems.
- Customer‑oriented, with the ability to adapt and respond to clients in different situations.
- Good attention to detail and a person who can prioritise and manage their time effectively.
- A passion to continue learning and developing skills.
- A desire to install and maintain systems to the highest standards.
