About the Role

Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR Division – a new era of mobile repair.

• Competitive base salary of £45,378 (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance, if applicable) with on‑target earnings up to £57,000.
• Guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
• 40 hours per week, core hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm, with one Saturday in every four.

Our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division delivers planned, structured repair and servicing directly to members, from their driveway to their workplace car park. You will work through a scheduled list of jobs with the time, tools and support you need to do quality work. There are no emergency callouts, unpredictable shift patterns or roadside recoveries.

You'll be part of the Wembley cluster, covering Wembley, Harrow, Stanmore, Edgware, Kingsbury, Kenton and Greenford. You will work locally on pre‑booked appointments, focusing on performing thorough, in‑shop‑level repairs.

• Carry out routine servicing.
• Perform diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Execute in‑depth repairs normally completed in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspections.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience, or
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

• Earn up to £57,000 through bonuses and premium‑rate overtime; 40‑hour week, Monday–Saturday availability.
