Homework Center Supervisor Orchard Middle School After School Program
3.5 hours/day, 195 day contract
Salary: $22.70 per hour
General Overview
The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) After School Program aims to raise student achievement in math and literacy, improve academic performance, and strengthen social connections, and provide meaningful enrichment opportunities for students.
The Homework Center Supervisor (HCS) oversees all activities in the middle school Homework Center, creating an environment where students feel supported, confident, and excited to learn. The HCS reports to the Site Coordinator and plays a key role in helping students strengthen academic skills through individualized support, small-group instruction, and fun, interactive learning opportunities that make math and literacy more accessible and enjoyable.
Qualifications
* Associate's degree required;
Bachelor's degree preferred
* Demonstrated success supporting low-income and culturally diverse students
* Strong math and literacy skills (math through Algebra preferred)
* Experience designing or implementing academic support programs
* Ability to engage students and create a positive, motivating learning atmosphere
* Familiarity with educational technology platforms such as Skyward and Google Suite preferred
* Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills
* Experience with classroom and behavior management
* Prior supervisory experience preferred
* Bilingual communication skills highly valued but not required
* Ability to uphold confidentiality and Wenatchee School District privacy requirements
Responsibilities
* Provide daily oversight of Homework Center operations, supervising Youth Development Staff and supporting
30-40 students
* Assist the Site Coordinator with hiring, onboarding, and supporting staff
* Plan and facilitate engaging academic activities-including games and interactive strategies-to build students' math and literacy skills
* Offer individualized and small-group academic support
* Promote a welcoming, inclusive, and productive environment that helps students enjoy learning
* Communicate regularly with teachers to align support with student academic needs
* Communicate with families about student attendance, progress, and strategies for success
* Recruit students for participation and develop student-facing informational materials
* Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic growth
* Address behavior and engagement concerns during academic time; support the Site Coordinator in maintaining a positive and consistent learning environment across the program
* Perform additional duties as assigned
