6.2 hours per day / 191 days per year

Salary: $19.99-$22.44 per hour

Description

Under the direction of the building administrator and/or the classroom teacher performs a variety of tasks related to the instructional program to enhance learning experiences in one-on-one, small group or classroom setting. Preparing materials for student use and administration of curriculum as directed. Before/after school, cafeteria and/or recess supervision. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum AA degree or equivalent or a passed PRAXIS test required. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required. Good communication skills and ability to follow written and oral directions. Experience teaching social skills to students is preferred. Experience working with students with extreme behaviors preferred. Comfortable with managing large groups of students. Patient, flexible, self-motivated, positive social skills and a calm personality.

Ability to relate well to students, parents and staff. May require prolonged sitting or standing. Wear appropriate clothing for climate and weather during recess. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.
