POSITION #207-CLS-06-26 Library Para Educator Washington Elementary School 6.25 hours per day (Monday & Wednesday) - 191 Calendar Salary: $19.99 - $22.44 per hour Description
Works collaboratively with the support of the teacher‑librarian to perform library services, including acquisition, cataloging, circulation, and reference work. Answers simple library information and directional questions. Interacts with and encourages students in the library and computer lab environments. Continually observes tasks that need to be done and performs them with minimal supervision. Opens the library and provides book check‑out for students and staff.
Assists the teacher‑librarian with special projects or tasks as needed. Supervises library. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum AA degree or equivalent or passed PRAXIS test required. Experience of at least one year preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required. Good computer skills and willingness to increase clerical, processing, and technological skills relating to advancing library services. Ability to follow written and oral directions. Patient, flexible, self‑motivated, positive social skills and a calm personality. Ability to relate well with students, parents and staff.
Good communication and teamwork skills. May require prolonged sitting or standing. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.

- 260 Day Employees – Paid leave benefits include 12 days of sick leave, 2 personal leave days, 14 holidays and 12 vacation days.
- Tuition reimbursement, 50% up to $450 per year for qualified expenses.
Benefits may be prorated based upon date of hire/hours per day.
