Position: 191-CRT-06-26 K-5 MTSS Coordinator @ DO

POSITION #191-CRT-06-26 K-5 MTSS Coordinator District Office 1.0 FTE, Continuing Contract

The K-5 Coordinator role is responsible for overseeing systems related to MTSS (Multi‑Tiered System of Supports), PLCs, and G & V (Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum).

MTSS Systems, PLCs, G & V
  • Support the implementation of district‑adopted G & V instruction and WSD Essential Instructional strategies. This includes developing and revising G & V Google sites, managing common data sheets, pacing guides, and creating common formative Math and ELA assessments.
Professional Development
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and deliver professional development to large (district‑wide) and small groups of teachers, para‑educators, administrators, and other support staff.
  • Align PD with WSD Strategic Plan:
    Big Six #1 High quality instruction, #3 Read at Grade Level and Beyond, #4 Ready for Algebra.
  • Plan and facilitate G & V professional learning days, LIT Team Leader, Elementary Intervention Collaboration, and Marzano Comprehensive Instructional Framework.
Collaboration
  • Lead PLC LIT Team Leaders and Intervention Specialists.
  • Work closely with district administrators, Special Programs, and 6-12 MTSS Coordinators.
Instructional Support
  • Model, co‑plan, and co‑teach WSD Essential Instructional Strategies for literacy and math.
  • Engage in WSD Learning Walks to support Big 6 Outcome #1, High Quality Instruction.
  • Support fair and equitable grading practices, including Skyward implementation.
Qualifications

Valid Washington State Certification. Bachelor’s Degree plus five years successful elementary teaching experience required. Elementary intervention experience preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Strong interpersonal skills are essential. Must be a team player. Solid experience teaching adult learners and working with culturally, socially, and economically diverse students. Demonstrated effective development and facilitation of training content. Strong knowledge of ELA and Math Common Core State Standards, district‑adopted curriculum for ELA and Math, Smarter Balanced Assessments, data‑driven instructional methods, and continuous improvement cycle required.

Strong technology skills needed. Proficiency with Google Site and Google Sheets required. Attendance, punctuality, flexibility, teamwork, strong communication skills, and a commitment to collaboration are important functions of this position.
