Position: Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Wenatchee, Washington

Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a dedicated educator specializing in visual impairments. This full-time, in-person position serves students for the entirety of the school year, offering an enriching professional experience in a supportive educational environment near Wenatchee, WA.

Key Qualifications and Desired

Experience:
  • Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Previous experience working with children who have visual impairments strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of braille, assistive technologies, and accessible instructional strategies
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with staff, families, and students
  • Ability to adapt lesson plans and learning materials to individual needs
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct instruction and educational support to students with visual impairments, ensuring access to curriculum and school activities
  • Assess students’ functional vision and learning needs, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) as appropriate
  • Collaborate closely with general educators, related service providers, and families to facilitate inclusion and student success
  • Train staff and students in the use of assistive technology and accessible resources
  • Advocate for students’ needs, helping to create a positive, accessible learning environment
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring, sharing updates as part of the IEP team
