Overview
8th Grade ELA/Social Studies Teacher (leave replacement) – Pioneer Middle School. 1.0 FTE Non-Continuing Contract. 1st Semester of the School Year ONLY (08/26/26-01/25/27).
Description: Language Arts & Social Studies. Middle School teaching experience preferred. Experience with Standards-Based Grading preferred. Plan, implement and evaluate classroom instruction consistent with program and district curriculum. Collaborate daily with grade level team. Implement intervention or enrichment as needed. Report pupil progress to parents; support programs and building/district in-service education programs; and attend building/district meetings and conferences as required. Participate on building/district collaborative teams and committees.
Other duties as assigned.

- Collaborate daily with the grade level team.
- Implement intervention or enrichment as needed.
- Report pupil progress to parents; support district in-service education programs; attend building/district meetings and conferences as required.
- Participate on building/district collaborative teams and committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid Washington state certification with appropriate endorsement(s).
- Highly qualified in English/Language Arts and Social Studies required.
- Experience with Standards-Based Grading preferred.
- Experience with the Marzano Instructional Model preferred.
- Proven collaboration skills; strong classroom management experience.
- Experience using data to guide instructional practice.
- Experience using instructional technology to deliver the curriculum.
- Experience working with diverse populations preferred.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt; attendance and punctuality are important functions of the job.
- Prolonged sitting or standing may be required.
