Psychologist Assistant (leave replacement)
Special Education
7.5 hrs per day

Salary: $29.73 - $32.24 per hour
DESCRIPTION: The Psychology Assistant is responsible for supporting school psychologists in conducting evaluations and re-evaluations for students across the Wenatchee School District.
The position involves administering specific assessments, supporting bilingual interpretation during evaluation processes, and assisting with data collection, file reviews, and observations.
This role plays a critical part in helping teams understand students’ academic and behavioral functioning, particularly for those referred for special education services.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide support to school psychologists in conducting evaluations and re-evaluations for students in the Wenatchee School District. Responsibilities include administering individual assessments in areas such as language dominance and/or academic achievement for students being reviewed by student study teams or referred for special education evaluation.
Offer bilingual interpretation and translation support to school psychologists and student team members during screenings and evaluations. Conduct and document student file reviews and classroom observations. Collaborate with colleagues to share assessment results and observations. Contact parents, at the direction of a school psychologist or IEP team, to gather background information or schedule meetings. This position may also support school psychology internship programs.
Perform other related duties as assigned by a school psychologist.
QUALIFICATIONS Bilingual in Spanish and English – able to read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff. Demonstrated ability to meet compliance timelines and documentation requirements. Knowledge and/or experience with Response to Intervention (RTI) and Positive Behavior Support systems.
Familiarity with the administration and use of cognitive, academic, and behavioral assessments to support student evaluations. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in support of student needs. Highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks, and consistently complete assignments on time. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to advocating for students and supporting equitable practices. Experience in K–12 school settings is preferred.
Ability to perform duties that may include prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position.
SCHEDULE: OPEN UNTIL FILLED.

180 - 219 Day Employees
- Paid leave benefits include 10 days of sick leave, 2 personal leave days and 11 holidays.
220 - 259 Day Employees
- Paid leave benefits include 10 days of sick leave, 3 personal leave days and 11 holidays.
260 Day Employees
- Paid leave benefits include 12 days of sick leave, 2 personal leave days, 14 holidays and 12 vacation days.
Tuition reimbursement, 50% up to $450 per year for qualified expenses.
Benefits may be prorated based upon date of hire/hours per day.
