We are seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team at Wenatchee High School as a CTE Para, supporting both our shop-based and business-based CTE programs. This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting students across Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses — from hands-on shop classes to business and entrepreneurship coursework — fostering an engaging, safety-first learning environment and assisting educators in delivering high-quality instruction.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working with tools and shop equipment, confident modeling and enforcing shop safety practices, and equally capable of supporting business-program operations, including supporting our student-operated school store and coffee stand. Additionally, this position, at 8 hours per day, includes before-school and after-school supervision as assigned by building administration.

• Assist shop/CTE instructors in implementing lesson plans and hands-on lab activities.
• Support students in the safe and proper use of tools and shop equipment, reinforcing shop safety rules, protocols, and best practices at all times.
• Facilitate hands-on learning experiences and assist with lab and shop activities, ensuring a safe, organized, and productive environment.
• Prepare instructional materials, tools, and shop resources to support vocational training.

• Assist business/CTE instructors with lesson plans and instructional activities related to business, entrepreneurship, and retail operations.
• Manage shopping and purchasing for inventory used in the school store and coffee stand.
• Support and help run daily school store operations during lunch periods, including sales, customer service, and cash handling.
• Help students apply classroom business concepts through real-world, hands-on experience in the school store and coffee stand.

• Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them understand course materials, complete projects, and build confidence in their program area.
• Monitor student progress and behavior in classroom, shop, and store settings, providing feedback and encouragement to promote success.
• Collaborate with teachers to identify and address individual student needs, including those with special requirements.
• Assist in organizing and participating in CTE-related events, workshops, and field trips.
• Support the integration of technology into the classroom, helping students develop essential skills for their future careers.
• Provide student supervision before and after school hours.
• Uphold school policies and procedures while fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all students.

Minimum AA degree or equivalent or passed PRAXIS test required. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required. Good communication skills and ability to follow written and oral directions. Experience supporting or tutoring middle school students with academic math content/skills is preferred. Experience teaching social skills to students preferred. Experience working with students with extreme behaviors preferred. Comfortable with managing large groups of students.

Patient, flexible, self-motivated, positive social skills and a calm personality. Ability to relate well to students, parents and staff. May require prolonged sitting or standing. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.
