SALARY RANGE

Range:
The advertised hiring range is $105,600 - $132,000, with a maximum opportunity of up to $158,400, with tenure and strong performance. Introductory Period:
New employees holding regular positions must complete an introductory period of twelve months.

JOB POSTING Overview

The Standards Coordinator is responsible for the development, maintenance and communication of Utility Operations materials, equipment standards, and work practices. Leads the preparation and maintenance of construction, material and engineering standards documents, including related sets and assemblies. Manages the evaluation of new materials and obsolete material recommendations. Also establishes stocking levels, supports forecasting and procurement of major equipment and addresses supply chain issues.

Maintains the standards website and related content, chairs the standards committee, and assists the Utility Operations team to standardize work processes and procedures. Ensures Utility Operations standards, materials, processes and procedures comply with applicable District policies and safety requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, maintenance and implementation of construction and material standards, including associated sets and assemblies, to ensure compliance with District engineering and safety requirements. Maintain the standards and material catalog within District and customer facing applications.
  • Provide technical guidance to District warehouse personnel on distribution equipment purchases, stocking levels and reorder points. Address supply chain issues to ensure equipment and materials meet District standards and inventory requirements.
  • Support the capital asset procurement process for major equipment and materials (such as poles, transformers, regulators, reclosures, capacitors), requiring utilization of the bidding process.
  • Assist with evaluating identified material performance issues and new materials recommendations to ensure safety, reliability, standardization, and cost effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a centralized platform/database to improve accessibility, version control, and usability.
  • Assist asset management team(s) with creating and implementing standardized processes and procedures to ensure alignment with asset management goals.
  • Provide technical support and collaborate with internal District customers and business units to advance standards and ensure materials are effectively integrated into work management and estimating systems.
  • Chair the standards committee, manage related tasks, and communicate and coordinate standards issues and topics among affected groups. Communicate proposed and approved standards changes to Committee and impacted groups.
  • Represent the District on internal and external committees and attend monthly safety committee meetings.
