We are seeking a motivated and safety-minded Safety Intern to support our manufacturing operations during Summer 2026 in sunny Wenatchee, Washington
. This hands-on internship provides real-world exposure to workplace safety programs within an active manufacturing environment, working directly with Safety and HR professionals to support compliance, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Safety, or a related field who want practical experience in a production setting.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular safety inspections and document hazards, unsafe conditions, and corrective actions.
- Assist in incident and near-miss investigations by collecting information, photographs, and reports.
- Support the development, revision, and distribution of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documentation.
- Help organize and deliver safety training sessions; prepare materials and track attendance.
- Develop safety communication materials such as posters, newsletters, or toolbox talks.
- Maintain safety records and assist in preparing reports and dashboards for management.
- Participate in and support safety committee meetings, including agenda preparation and tracking action items.
- Assist with emergency preparedness initiatives, including evacuation maps, signage, and safety drills.
- Support ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements to reduce risk of strain and injury.
- Perform other safety-related duties and projects as assigned.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety principles preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail with the ability to document findings accurately.
- Gain practical knowledge of workplace safety programs and compliance requirements.
- Develop skills in hazard recognition, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
- Learn how to engage employees in building a proactive safety culture.
- Experience the role of safety professionals in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
- Exposure to both office and production floor environments.
- May require standing, walking, or lifting up to 50 lbs. during inspections.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Undergraduate Pay will range from $20.00 - $22.00 an hour.
- Graduate pay will start at $30.00 an hour.
