Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Youth Mobile Crisis Services Manager and per the Mobile Response and Stabilization Services model (MRSS), the Mental Health Care Provider (MHCP) delivers solution‑focused, strength‑oriented crisis intervention for youth and families. The MHCP coordinates with outpatient providers and natural supports to assess the crisis, identify solutions, and access resources as needed, supporting individuals in their current living environments while reducing use of emergency departments, hospital boarding, and detention centers.
Schedule:
Thursday, Friday, & Saturday; 7am-9am
- Provide trauma‑informed care, de‑escalation techniques, and harm reduction.
- Promote safe behavior in home, school, and community settings.
- Assist families in accessing ongoing support and services, including intensive clinical and in‑home services.
- Deliver Mobile Crisis outreach services in person whenever possible.
- Respond to mobile crisis calls within 2 hours for emergent, 24 hours for urgent, and within 60 minutes for all call types.
- Define crises based on parent/caregiver and/or youth input.
- Provide developmentally appropriate services and include family/caregivers and natural supports throughout stabilization.
- Serve children, youth, young adults, and families or caregivers in home or school environments.
- Complete progress notes and documentation in electronic consumer files in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with community resources, coordinate treatment with other providers, and initiate referrals to medical and community resources.
- Conduct behavioral health clinical assessments using CSSR‑S, GAINS, and Quadrant tools.
- Maintain knowledge of community behavioral health services to link families promptly.
- Analyze families’ stories to identify strengths, needs, preferences, and goals for intervention and treatment planning.
- Provide in‑home safety supports, including safety sweeps for high‑risk youth with suicidal ideation.
- Prescribe and implement behavioral health strategies and treatment plans, teaching social behavior, self‑protection, and coping skills.
- Offer skill‑building support for anger management, aggression alternatives, frustration tolerance, and socialization.
- Coordinate healthcare with primary care physicians and specialists to integrate medical and behavioral health services.
- Leverage team expertise—Family Support Specialists, Certified Peers, Behavioral Support Specialists, and Clinical Supervisors—to incorporate diverse perspectives in planning.
- Maintain a strengths‑based focus and inspire problem‑solving among peers.
- Provide training and guidance to new and current staff requiring assistance.
- Uphold a culture of privacy and security in a highly confidential environment (HIPAA covered entity).
- Comply with Catholic Charities policies for safeguarding client Protected Health Information.
- Physical Requirements:
capable of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing low‑exertion work, and talking and hearing regularly; 80% of the time. Must be able to drive with adequate vision. - Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field (preferred) OR Associate’s degree in behavioral science and 2 years of related experience. - Special
Skills:
strong family and individual case management skills; self‑motivated; able to work independently and as a team member; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. - Licensure, Registration, Certification: valid Washington State driver’s license; minimum liability insurance for WA; deemed insurable per Catholic Charities’ provider;
Agency‑Affiliated Counselor Registration. - Employment Conditions: cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required.
