Perform routine and special ultrasound procedures, provide safe, courteous and efficient care to patients, and assist in other departmental sections as needed.
Position Reports ToRadiology Manager
Essential Functions- Perform various ultrasound examinations (abdomen, renal, OB/GYN, small parts, vascular) following professional and facility protocols safely.
- Assist with interventional procedures using sterile technique (biopsies, aspirations, localizations, paracentesis, thoracentesis) under a radiologist or APP.
- Maintain cleanliness of the ultrasound unit and associated minor equipment per infection‑control policies.
- Place lab specimens appropriately with correct labeling and documentation.
- Use proper patient positioning tools and ensure ergonomically correct scanning techniques to maximize patient comfort and data integrity.
- Be on stand‑by and on call as needed; if on call, respond within 20 minutes of notification (Central).
- Utilize PACS, RIS, and EMR efficiently, completing required documentation.
- Maintain current licensure/certifications and comply with continuing education requirements from regulatory entities.
- Maintain an active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Completion of a program approved by the ARDMS with clinical ultrasound experience.
- Registered or registry eligible with ARDMS at hire; if not registered, must be registered in one or more special areas (OB/GYN, ABD) within six months of hire.
- Obtain RVT with ARDMS within one year of employment (Central Campus).
- Stand‑by and on call as required; if on call, respond within 20 minutes of notification (Central).
