$3,000 Sign‑On Bonus for Certified Medical Assistants! No experience required. Must have an active MA‑C license and be an external applicant. Requires 1 year commitment to Confluence Health. This role works directly with ophthalmologists and optometrists to deliver high‑quality patient care in a specialty clinical setting. No prior ophthalmology experience is required—we provide comprehensive, hands‑on training.

The Medical Assistant Certified supports patient visits by obtaining and documenting medical histories, updating medication lists, performing ophthalmic diagnostic testing and imaging, assisting with in‑office procedures (including injections and lasers), providing patient education, and cleaning and processing ophthalmic instruments.

This position offers a unique opportunity for an MA‑C who enjoys learning specialized skills, working closely with providers, and building long‑term patient relationships in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Practice Manager.

• Greets patients promptly and prepares them for examination; works with the clinical team to maintain timely patient flow.
• Obtains and records vital signs per protocol in the electronic medical record.
• Obtains patient medical history and reason for visit; documents accurately to maintain a correct medical record.
• Administers injections and medications as directed by the provider.
• Assists in procedures and minor emergencies as directed by the provider or RN within scope.
• Schedules lab, x‑ray, and other tests as directed; instructs patients on sample collection and provides follow‑up results.
• Communicates with patients, relays important information to the provider, and follows up on pharmacy medication orders.
• Maintains clean exam rooms, cleans instruments, and stocks items for exam and procedure rooms.
• Maintains current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school graduate or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program, or enrolled in an externship, or Medical Assistant Apprentice with curriculum completion; passed the CCMA exam and awaiting committee consideration for Medical Assistant‑Certified licensure.
• Active Medical Assistant Interim (IC) or Medical Assistant‑Certified (CM) license through Washington State Department of Health, or internal apprentice awaiting licensure.

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.

Work is performed at a workstation and in patient exam rooms, where space may be limited and confined. Requires working closely with others. Hours may be irregular; overtime may be required. Work occurs under stressful conditions. General supervision is from the Practice Manager, with additional guidance from the providers.
