Position Summary:

This position is responsible for compiling, reviewing, and submitting data into electronic health records and other reporting systems to support high quality client care and access to treatment within assigned behavioral health programs. The Data Submission Specialist provides administrative support for our clinical teams by ensuring information is relayed efficiently to staff and that all client records are completed timely for submission to payors.

Responsibilities:

Reviews client enrollment data and clinical documentation to ensure compliance with legal and funding source requirements.

Gathers data, prepares reports for posting accurate data Compiles and sorts documents, verifies accuracy of data, and identifies and interprets data to be entered into medical records or other reporting systems.

Contacts originators of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.

Reviews error reports and corrects information as appropriate, or contacts clinical staff to make corrections

Scan client records and documentation to electronic health records and routes source documents to appropriate location after entry into the EHR.Complete discharges from episode

Runs service history, demographic and failed activities reports.

Posts all services in a timely fashion to meet funder and agency requirements

Continuously improves knowledge of program activities and required documentation.

Provides backup for other data staff as needed

Participates in meetings for data updates and submissions as assigned

Run and upload eligibility for all clients and submit registration as needed.

Ensures strict confidentiality of all protected health information and complies with all policies and regulations regarding client privacy

Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

The following requirements are those that are normally required for performance of this position. Physical Requirements:

This position normally requires the psychical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertions, talking and hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to preform job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 90% of the time.

Non-Physical Requirement:

Education High School Diploma, Required

Experience2 years’ experience with electronic medical records systems (EHR or EMR)
Knowledge of data requirements related to community mental health

Special Skills Pleasant, welcoming and friendly demeanor with staff and clients

Detailed oriented and able to multi-task Experienced use of standard office equipment, including computer, copier, fax, phone, calculator, TTY, or other equipment

Maintain positive, team-oriented service attitude toward clients and staff.

The ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.

Employment is conditional upon:

Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pmWage Range: $19.08-$21.20 per hour, depending on education & experience

Education Assistance Program reimbursing up to $5,250 per year for approved continuing education after 6 months of employment

Additional voluntary insurances including supplemental life, accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D), critical illness, long term disability, accident, and  Assistance Program includes 3 counseling sessions per year, legal consultations, financial coaching, and other wellbeing tools

Annual longevity awards begin at 5 years of employment
