Physical Therapist Assistant

Salary: $31.24-$33.76 per hour
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides school-based physical therapy services to students with disabilities under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA supports student mobility, access, independence, safety, and participation in the educational environment while implementing services identified in students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Essential Duties- Provide physical therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Implement treatment plans and IEP services developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Support student mobility, positioning, transfers, strength, balance, coordination, and safe access to school environments.
- Assist students with adaptive equipment, wheelchairs, walkers, gait trainers, and other mobility supports.
- Collaborate with teachers, para educators, families, and related service providers.
- Support and train school staff in safe positioning, transfers, mobility, and equipment use as directed by the Physical Therapist.
- Collect student data and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Complete service logs, progress documentation, Medicaid billing, and other required records.
- Participate in IEP and team meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain student confidentiality and follow district safety procedures.
- Travel between district schools and programs as needed.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the scope of the position.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current Washington State Physical Therapist Assistant license or ability to obtain required licensure.
- Ability to safely assist students with mobility, positioning, transfers, and adaptive equipment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working with children or students with disabilities.
- Experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy.
- Knowledge of special education, IEPs, adaptive equipment, and school-based Medicaid documentation.

260 Day Employees
- Paid leave benefits include 12 days of sick leave, 2 personal leave days, 14 holidays and 12 vacation days.
Tuition reimbursement, 50% up to $450 per year for qualified expenses.
