Please Note:

This is a hybrid role requiring periodic on-site visits to our facilities. The anticipated start date is April, 2026.

Primarily responsible for administering a recruitment and selection process for Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) based on assigned branches and specialties.

Essential Functions:

  • Tracks all current and potential vacancies, clarifies position requirements and assists with the development of job descriptions and other candidate informational materials. Coordinates the team involved for assigned vacancies.
  • Prepares advertisements and other promotional materials.
  • Stays abreast of the availability of candidates and competitive trends and develops innovative recruiting strategies.
  • Assists with the recruiting budget.
  • Develops effective recruiting contacts with training programs, medical schools and specialty groups.
  • Contacts candidates directly to explore their interest in a potential relationship with WVMG or Confluence Health. Maintains a file and database of qualified candidates for reference when appropriate openings occur.
  • Coordinates the delivery of WVMG or Confluence Health information to potential candidates.
  • Obtains lists of references from potential candidates.
  • Assures that pre-credentialing has taken place prior to an interview.
  • Informs candidates of corporate policies, practices, attributes and fringe benefits, as well as the nature of the community and surrounding region.
  • Coordinates reference checking with physicians and others involved in the recruitment process.
  • Develops an on site interview team and selection process which utilizes defined assessment criteria, interview questions related to each criteria and written assessments. Consults with the team members concerning the conduct of the interview process to assure that all required information is obtained.
  • Coordinates the physician/APP and spouse’s interview visit. Determines the necessary travel and housing arrangements and sets up the schedule of interviews and other events.
  • Meets with each candidate during their visit to explain the process. Interviews each candidate and documents the assessment.
  • Follows up on the visit with the candidate and advises them of their status.
  • Participates in the orientation of newly hired physicians and APPs.
  • Assists with arrangement of employment details (i.e. contract, moving, malpractice insurance, licensing, transition to community, etc.).
  • Reports regularly to the Chairman regarding the status of the recruitment process.
    Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate standards of behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.

    Required:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, HR or related field (e.g. Psychology, Communications).
    • Experience in human resources and marketing.
    • Knowledge of recruitment, retention, and equal employment opportunity principles, practices and theories.
    • Highly skilled in the development of positive relationships with physician candidates and the projection of a positive, professional image of WVMG.
    • Ability to develop effective working relationships with WVMG physicians involved in the recruitment; must be able to conduct an effective assessment interview and critically and objectively evaluate applicant information and observations and apply intuitive skills in making candidate assessments.
    • Initiative and the ability to work independently and deal with a high volume of work amidst distractions and time pressures.
    • Skilled in analyzing recruitment results and equal opportunity concerns and developing innovative recruitment strategies; ability to interpret and apply corporate policies and legal requirements; familiarity with VISA and residency requirements for foreign medical graduates.
    • Computer familiarity with MS Office and contact management software skills.

    Desired:

    • Master's Degree.
    • Knowledge of the health care industry/professions.
