Description

This is the job description for a Level I QC Technician at Pacific Aerospace & Electronics (Pac Aero). The role involves performing dimensional and visual inspections of machined components, including in-process, receiving, and final inspections, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauge pins, thread gauges, gauge blocks, profilometers, surface comparators, CMMs, and vision systems.

The Position

Job Summary

The Level I QC Technician is a reliable contributor responsible for performing dimensional/visual in‑process, receiving, and final inspection of product to verify internal and customer quality requirements. This role requires a basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), knowledge of industry‑standard inspection methods, and the ability to use basic inspection tools & equipment. The Level I QC Technician performs basic to intermediate inspections while maintaining acceptable efficiency levels & quality standards.

Adherence to safety policies, company procedures, and strong attention to detail are essential.

Schedule

Depending on previous experience, may train Monday‑Friday, day shift 5:00am-3:30pm for a minimum of 2 weeks or up to 3 months before switching to the weekend night shift:

  • Friday through Sunday 5:00pm to 6:00am (earlier leave time if waiving 2nd lunch); includes a $4/hr shift premium. Includes 4 stock hours to round up to a 40‑hour work week.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Work cooperatively with all employees.

  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Observe safety regulations and follow protective equipment requirements. Report hazardous observations to your lead or supervisor.
  • Comprehend and follow all parts handling requirements.
Level I QC Technician Responsibilities
  • In-process dimensional and visual inspection of machined components.
  • Communicating in-process inspection results to machinists.
  • Final dimensional inspection of finished product.
  • Recording measurement results on inspection reports.
  • Inspection of incoming raw material and components.
  • Inspection of pre‑plate housings.
  • Inspection using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauge pins, thread gauges, gauge blocks, profilometers, surface comparators, etc.
  • Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and Vision Systems:
  • Introductory/working skills.
  • Follow daily clean‑up and housekeeping procedures.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work‑related rules and regulations.
Introductory/working skills

Basic introduction/training to specific inspection equipment. Able to operate inspection equipment that has been pre‑programmed.
