Provides appropriate specialized health care services to hospital and clinic patients. Also provides surgical assistance as needed. Participates in shared department call schedule as needed. Performs examinations, orders and performs diagnostic tests, establishes diagnoses, prescribes medication, performs office procedures within licensure scope, and instructs patients and family members about continuing care.

Essential Functions- Provide specialized health care to patients, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and acute illnesses and minor injuries.
- Refer to physicians as needed, write prescriptions, and perform office procedures within scope of expertise and available equipment.
- Provide surgical assistance as needed.
- Consul patients and families, helping them understand issues related to physical and emotional health.
- Participate in health promotional activities, community events, and committees.
- Participate in decisions, planning, and policies related to clinical care.
- Maintain thorough and complete medical records in a timely manner and demonstrate proficiency in using the Electronic Medical Record documentation system.
- Record statistics and conduct research as deemed necessary.
- Collaborate with staff and physicians to identify patient needs and develop plans to meet those needs.
- Maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsRequired:
- Active Physician Assistant licensure with prescriptive authority in the state of Washington, required by start date.
