SummaryThe Vice President (VP) Nursing, Ambulatory Patient Care Operations provides clinical leadership and strategic oversight for all ambulatory and outpatient nursing services across the continuum of care. This role is accountable for the quality, safety, operational performance, financial stewardship, and regulatory compliance of ambulatory patient care services, including home infusion services, home health and hospice, palliative care, case management, value-based care initiatives, and population health programs.
The VP serves as the senior nursing and patient care operations leader for ambulatory services and is responsible for standardizing outpatient nursing competencies, scope of practice, standards of care, and professional practice models across all ambulatory settings. This leader partners closely with physician leaders, operational executives, and system nursing leadership to advance care transformation, improve outcomes, and drive value for patients, families, and the community.

Essential Functions- Serves as a senior executive clinical leader for ambulatory patient care operations across all outpatient settings.
- Represents ambulatory nursing and patient care operations on executive councils, governance committees, and clinical leadership forums.
- Partners with system and entity leadership to develop and execute short- and long-term strategic plans aligned with organizational mission, vision, and value-based care objectives.
- Partners as a clinical expert on ambulatory care transformation initiatives that improve access, quality, care coordination, patient experience, and affordability.
- Provides executive oversight for all outpatient nursing practice, ensuring alignment with system-wide nursing standards, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and evidence-based practice.
- Promotes a culture of professional accountability, engagement, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Partners with Clinical Development to ensure deployment of ambulatory nursing education, onboarding, and ongoing competency assurance programs.
- Provides operational leadership and accountability for Home Health & Hospice, Palliative Care, Case Management & Care Coordination, Value-Based Care & Population Health. Is an operational resource for Home Infusion Services.
- Partners with the Quality and Risk Departments for quality outcomes, patient safety, and risk management across all ambulatory nursing services. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and payer requirements.
- Oversee ambulatory quality metrics, nursing-sensitive indicators, patient experience outcomes, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Oversees capital planning, business cases, and return-on-investment analyses for ambulatory services.
- Builds strong, collaborative partnerships with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary leaders. Aligns nursing operations with physician practice goals and service line strategies. Supports team-based care models and interdisciplinary collaboration across the continuum.
