The MBU/Peds Nurse Educator promotes quality evidenced based nursing practice through education and professional development of nursing staff.
Position
Reports To:
Clinical Manager/Director.
- Facilitates orientation and assists with evaluation of core clinical competencies.
- Facilitates the completion of the orientee’s skills list and participates in the three-month evaluation of new staff.
- Serves as a mentor and coach to new staff.
- Keeps orientation materials current.
- Identifies learning needs and professional self-improvement needs for nursing staff.
- Provides instruction to staff on a formal and informal basis at the unit level.
- Serves a coach and mentor to staff.
- Identifies teaching material needs for staff.
- Consistently provides nursing care with a high degree of clinical competency.
- Provides effective education to staff.
- Uses Evidence Based Practice/Research.
- Demonstrates communication and interactions in accordance to Confluence Health’s Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance.
Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor's Degree (BSN - must be obtained within 1-2 years of hire), or other appropriate degree.
- Minimum of four years of current specialty nursing experience.
- Current licensure in the state of Washington (RCW 18.88) or licensure through Multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (SSB 5499).
