This position directs and controls the Produce Department. Responsibilities include supervising personnel, planning and ordering merchandise, maintaining customer service and product quality, freshness, and selection.

• Supervise employees by motivating, training, hiring, scheduling, monitoring performance, recommending disciplinary actions, and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Meet departmental sales and gross margin objectives by providing fresh, quality goods, creating promotional displays, maintaining temperature control, preventing shrink, and managing stock rotation and pricing.
• Provide fast, friendly customer service and engage in suggestive selling techniques.
• Perform receiving duties: verify orders, manage invoices, break down loads, date product, cut cases, stack, price, and mark merchandise.
• Maintain cleanliness and visual appeal of the work, storage, and selling areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Experience as a produce clerk, lead clerk, or manager in a produce department.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and employee‑relations skills.
• Ability to speak with customers during the day shift and communicate in writing to coworkers.
• Experience with visual inspections, product handling, and basic math calculations.
• Experience operating related equipment with manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.

• Perform supervisory tasks such as interviewing, hiring, counseling, and training.
• Understand company practices from prior produce department experience.
• Lift and maneuver objects up to 50 lbs. frequently; push and pull hand trucks and pallet jacks.
• Stand for long periods, walk, bend, twist, and turn frequently.
• Work with moisture‑exposed hands, fruits, and vegetables.
• Understand product safety, sanitation procedures, and departmental policies.
• Perform primary duties efficiently and accurately.

• Food Handlers Certification (as required by state law).

• Knives, wrappers, scales, compactors, garbage disposals, hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklift, and related equipment.

USD $25.67 - USD $25.67 /Hr.
