Full‑time and on‑call positions are available at the Wenatchee Valley Reentry Center (WVRC) in Wenatchee, WA.

The Washington State Department of Corrections seeks highly motivated individuals to serve as Correctional Officers, providing safety and security in a minimum‑security adult facility that houses both male and female residents.

• Full‑time – $5,523 – $5,948
• On‑call/Hourly – $31.74 – $34.18

• One year of experience as a Department of Corrections (DOC) Corrections and Custody Officer, including successful completion of the CORE (Academy) and the Correctional Officer Field Training Program.
• One year of experience as a Correctional Officer in adult or juvenile corrections where security functions equivalent to a DOC Corrections and Security Officer 2 were performed.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Legal (constitutional) right to carry a firearm.
• Pre‑employment drug testing and psychological evaluation.

• Maintain the safety and security of the institution and control the movement of inmates into, out of, and within the facility.
• Serve as a positive role model and work with incarcerated individuals to help them become productive members of society.
• Use interpersonal and communication skills to correct and counteract criminal thinking while ensuring a safe confinement environment.
• Participate in an initial six‑week training academy and ongoing job training.
• Work a minimum of 32 – 40 hours per week as an on‑call staff member; full‑time positions available.

• Background check including criminal record history will be conducted.

• Exposure to pepper spray (Oleoresin Capsicum) and animal care projects may occur; applicants with allergies should ask about exposure levels.
• Tuberculosis testing is required within 60 days of hire; a positive test does not preclude employment.
• Foreign‑equivalent degrees issued outside the U.S. must be accompanied by a credential evaluation report.
