Maintenance Engineer

The maintenance Engineer is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of equipment as assigned. He/she is also responsible for performing the job in a safe and efficient manner and performing trade jobs, such as carpentry, painting, HVAC, etc as assigned.

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working

Follow all hotel and departmental procedures and policies

Report emergencies and unusual situations immediately

Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment

Assist in maintenance of health code requirements for the pool and spa

Act as the emergency contact

Attend monthly maintenance meetings and communicate with the Corporate Engineer

Evaluate and spot-check work of staff and contractors or outside laborers

Carry a phone at all times

Point out and assist with eliminating safety concerns

Demonstrate an attitude of cooperation and helpfulness at all times

Perform plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, HVAC repair, pool/spa repair, and minor electrical repair upon request

Complete all appropriate Engineering forms.

Perform any other duties as requested by the Corporate Engineer or Immediate Supervisor

Experience in a hotel or related field preferred

High school diploma or equivalent required

Licensed in a trade preferred(plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc)

Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state

Long hours sometimes required

Ability to work in a typical maintenance atmosphere requiring heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and climbing ladders and stairs

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects

Ability to stand during entire shift

Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.

Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately

Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations

Must be able to work unsupervised

$25 - $28 hourly
