Provides direct patient care to behavioral health patients in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the facility.

Day Shift, Part time: 7am-7pm, varying days. Self-scheduling based on staffing needs; may change. Every 3rd weekend and holiday requirement. No call requirement.

• Completes admitting and shift assessments on assigned patients including behaviors; accurately and within time-frame set in policy and procedures.
• Utilizes critical thinking skills and judgement to analyze patient assessment data and notify physician of changes in condition.
• Participates in the development, review and evaluation of multidisciplinary treatment plans as per policies and procedures.
• Documents all nursing care given and adheres to nursing standards and policies and procedures.
• Consistently and accurately implements and records physicians orders.
• Assesses and monitors patients and environment for safety within the unit.
• Serves as a clinical resource and supervises care delivered by LPNs and techs.
• Educates patients and families based on assessed needs and documents education provided in the Electronic Health Record.
• Applies evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring nursing care is delivered based on patient age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department’s Scope of Service.
• Demonstrates professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model and uses the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide responses to evolving health and nursing needs.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.

No experience required.

• Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
• Constant standing and walking.
• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry.
• Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
• Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
• Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery.
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Occasional lifting/moving of patients.
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
• Occasional driving.
• Rare crawling and running.

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
• Registered Nurse (RN) issued by Compact State
