The Security Chief provides day‑to‑day leadership and supervision of security and fire personnel assigned to one or more client sites and may travel between locations as necessary. This position serves as a mentor to supervisors and security officers while ensuring compliance with client requirements, site‑specific procedures, and Inter‑Con policies and standards.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Provide day‑to‑day supervision of assigned security and/or fire personnel.
- Mentor and support security supervisors and officers.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, site‑specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Inter‑Con policies and procedures.
- Evaluate risks and ensure adequate staffing coverage for assigned site(s).
- Monitor compliance with post orders, applicable regulations, and established security procedures.
- Advise management of emergency situations and ensure appropriate response by security personnel.
- Research and recommend best practices, operational improvements, and security initiatives.
- Interface with client management regarding security and fire prevention services.
- Identify security concerns, recommend solutions, and implement corrective actions.
- Assist with recruiting, selecting, onboarding, training, developing, and retaining personnel.
- Develop and maintain security staffing schedules.
- Conduct compliance reviews, audits, and vulnerability assessments.
- Monitor regulatory, safety, and fire prevention compliance.
- Maintain records and documentation in accordance with company requirements.
- Respond to emergencies and direct security operations during critical incidents.
- Ensure incidents are reported, documented, and investigated appropriately.
- Maintain current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Supervise fire prevention and fire‑related functions when applicable.
- Report to designated client management and Inter‑Con leadership.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. - Experience:
Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible security experience required; seven (7) years preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions during emergency situations.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Working knowledge of access control, security, and safety systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- English language proficiency required; additional languages are beneficial.
