Summary

Provides support to the assigned campuses and assists the Parent Involvement Coordinator to strengthen parent engagement, increase student recruitment, and support district-wide enrollment efforts. Assists in planning, coordinating, and implementing parent involvement programs, workshops, and activities that encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children's education.

Qualifications / Education
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates degree or 60 or more college hours preferred
  • 1 year experience in community-based outreach program

  • Knowledge of campus instructional operations and school community demographics.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse community of educators, students, parents, and community members.
  • Ability to present and communicate with parents, students, principals, and campus staff.
  • Ability to use technology, software to develop spreadsheets and databases, and do word processing.
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond to supervisor direction and take responsibility for own actions
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

  • Ability to perform duties remotely and/or on a flex schedule, upon approval by superintendent, in response to pandemics, natural disasters, catastrophic events, etc. and will be subject to virtual/distance learning policies and procedures as set forth in employee handbook.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Parent and Community Relations
  • Collaborates with Parent Involvement Coordinator to establish and administer programs for targeting, recruitment, and retention of students for the campus.
  • Travels to assigned campuses according to a district-approved schedule to support parent involvement programs, facilitate workshops and meetings, and provide resources to families. Travel may also include various businesses and local businesses, community agencies, and organizations to promote district programs, services, and family engagement initiatives.
  • Assist Parent Involvement Coordinator in serving as a link between school and home, establish trusting relationships and welcoming environment, and serve as a point of contact for families.
  • Work directly with the Campus Principals to support parent outreach efforts that will impact student achievement; assist with Title I, Part A Parental Involvement requirements.
  • Provide assistance to parents and guardians in navigating the school system, assist with awareness of available campus, district, and community social services and their attainment.
  • As directed, utilize appropriate information management systems (School Admin) and records essential to attain goals.
  • Assist to identify student and parent needs, work closely with school staff to coordinate services for students and families and provide community referrals to families, as needed.
  • Assist with all campus activities including parent and family involvement activities, community involvement committees, etc.
  • Assist with the development and dissemination of school newsletters, correspondence, videos, social media platforms, surveys, etc.
  • Relay parent concerns and input regarding their children's educational needs to principal and coordinator.
  • May assist campus administrator to identify students with attendance issues and other needs as requested.
  • Provide interpreter services for bilingual parents, guardians, and staff during parent-teacher conferences, school meetings, and activities.
