MRI Technologist responsible for performing all MRI procedures in a timely manner. Performs procedures according to the physician's orders and works collaboratively with the Radiology team to ensure safe and accurate delivery of patient care.

• Graduate of an accredited radiology, magnetic resonance (MR) program, licensed vocational nursing, or emergency medical technician program required.
• Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) general certification within three (3) months of hire required.
• Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) MRI certification within twelve (12) months of hire preferred.
• Current State of Texas license (TMB) preferred.
• Magnetic Resonance (MR) Program Graduate:
  • Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) MRI certification or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) required within twelve (12) months of hire.
• Licensed Vocational Nursing Program:
  • Current licensed vocational nursing license in the State of Texas (LVN) required.
  • Current license in the State of Texas as a Paramedic (EMT‑P) required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• American Heart Association ACLS and PALS recommended.
• Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Secretarial experience and organizational skills necessary.
• Good verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English required;
  Spanish preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians.
• Computer knowledge required.

• At least two (2) years of hospital experience preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate high degree of competency and experience with MRI procedures.
• Demonstrates accuracy and ability to closely follow established procedures.
• Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
• Requires working with frequent interruptions.

• Performs necessary quality control and maintenance on equipment.

• Performs all MRI radiological procedures in a timely manner per protocol and optimizes imaging protocols to produce diagnostic‑quality images.
• Accurately comprehends and interprets verbal orders and directions.
• Assumes responsibility for the collection and processing of patient specimens.
• Completes accurate documentation on patient records according to policy.
• Operates the facility's computer systems for related tasks.
• Ensures exams are verified and completed in PACS and RIS systems.
• Trains MRI technologists on appropriate procedure protocols.
• Confirms that equipment and supplies are MRI‑compatible.
• Adheres to MRI safety zones and conducts MRI screening process per policies and procedures.
• Maintains Texas Department of Health (TDH), American College of Radiology (ACR), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and Joint Commission standards.
• Maintains equipment and procedure competencies.
• Operates all clinical equipment safely and appropriately.
• Completes and updates all employment requirements, including continuing education (e.g., Health Stream), Employee Health, Radiology Competencies, Credentials, etc.
• Earns and submits 10 Category A credits of continuing education related to MRI annually.
