Assistant Manager

Job Summary

Assists with the direction of all activities of a single Branch location. This includes performing all daily tasks needed to ensure a safety‑first culture, expenses are controlled, and a high standard of operational excellence is routinely achieved. Additionally, this role manages the Branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.

• Develop, evaluate, and influence effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
• Model, promote, reinforce, and reward the consistent use of HOLT’s Values‑Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
• Support the successful management of branch operations and personnel
• Assess daily the need for purchasing equipment through feedback from salesmen, CSRs, customer feedback, vendor representatives and marketing department product managers
• Assess and modify weekly sales plans and ensure they are carried out appropriately
• Ensure on‑going compliance with all statutory DOT and safety requirements
• Perform dispatching duties (if needed) and inspect Profit Center yard daily
• Ensure OSRs and CSRs are aware of slow‑moving equipment
• Maintain an open line of communication with the Service Manager, making them aware of all equipment not available for rent
• Oversee team goals, ensuring they are met or exceeded, and compliance of company standards is kept through daily management
• Assist with equipment demonstrations and technical support
• Foster a customer‑focused approach to sales and service while ensuring the Branch Yard, facility and staff are professional and presentable
• Ensure accurate financial reporting and budget preparation as well as various reporting, including, but not limited to: daily contract reports/AP on hold/accrual reports/asset disposal report
• Be driven and results oriented; develop business KPIs to meet corporate targets
• Work safely at all times and adhere to all applicable safety policies; comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Strong technical aptitude and understanding of construction equipment and rental industry
• Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Proficiency in MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel and Outlook, and the use of computer applications
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
• Great attention to detail and solid organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Exceptional organizational, time management, and multi‑tasking skills
• Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization and customer operations
