Telemetry Registered Nurse

Overview

We are seeking a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN), sometimes referred to as a Telemetry RN or Tele RN. The Tele RN specializes in attending to patients in our telemetry units, including those needing cardiac monitoring. The Tele RN monitors and interprets patient vital signs such as heart rate, rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. Continuous monitoring enables gathering real‑time data to make informed decisions regarding patient care, ensuring early detection of abnormalities or changes in the patient’s condition.

This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Shift available: Nights

Employment type: Per Diem (PD/PRN)

Hours: Variable

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within scope of practice. Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Telemetry Unit. Directly responsible for care of assigned patients. Communicates with physicians about changes in clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic results, and symptomatology.

Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications
  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
  • Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintained.
  • Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
  • Ventilator management experience preferred.
  • Medical‑Surgical Nurse‑Board Certified (RN‑BC) or similar certification preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
