Overview
Texas Oncology Weslaco is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team. This full‑time position supports the Medical Oncology Department at our Weslaco location. Typical work week Monday‑Friday 8am‑5pm with no weekends or major holidays. The role is available at Level 1, Level 2 or Senior based on experience.
Qualifications- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
- Level 1: 0‑3 years of experience.
- Level 2: 3 years of experience.
- Level Sr: 6 years of experience.
- RN state licensure, current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state, and current Nurse Practitioner licensure.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Level 1: 0‑3 years of experience.
- Level 2: 3 years of experience.
- Level Sr: 6 years of experience.
- Current state license as a Physician Assistant and current BLS/CPR certification.
- Current NCCPA certification.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program.
- Level 1: 0‑3 years of experience.
- Level 2: 3 years of experience.
- Level Sr: 6 years of experience.
- RN state licensure, current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state, and current Clinical Nurse Specialist licensure.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Direct care and management of patients in outpatient, inpatient, and surgical settings, including documentation of visits, patient and family education, order and review of diagnostic studies, prescription of medications, symptom management, counseling, and support.
- Collaborate with clinicians and the team in interdependent practice with physicians.
- Proficient use of the Electronic Health Record and complete documentation per Texas Oncology policy and guidelines.
- Build strong collaborative relationships across the organization and local medical community.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as appropriate.
- Participate in tumor board, institutional trainings, and meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Educational development with programmatic training, treatment review and coordination, survivorship, genetic consultations, high‑risk clinics, advanced care planning.
- Involvement in clinical research.

Physical DemandsRequires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients; manual and finger dexterity; eye‑hand coordination; standing and walking for extended periods; occasional lift up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
Work EnvironmentExposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
