PLANT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I

We are seeking a Hospital Maintenance Technician I, also referred to as our Maintenance Worker or Maintenance Specialist. A Hospital Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing non‑medical equipment like HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and facility structures to ensure the hospital operates safely and efficiently. They perform routine inspections, respond to emergencies, and ensure compliance with safety codes to support patient care and hospital operations.

Shift’s Available: Days

Employment Type: Full Time

Hours: 8 Hour shifts

Location: Knapp Medical Center - Weslaco, TX

This is an entry‑level or junior type of position. If you have experience or training in HVAC repair, plumbing or electrical systems you are encouraged to apply!

Maintains accurate logs on all equipment in hospital and provides for a safe working environment. Also maintains and repairs equipment including, but not limited to, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, plant maintenance, and medical gas systems. Driving as needed for company business.

Education and Work Experience

• Able to troubleshoot, read schematics, and/or blueprints.
• Valid current state driver's license.
• Minimum 0-1 years healthcare experience preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
