Overview
A Warehouse Verifier ensures accuracy in shipments by checking incoming/outgoing goods against orders, inspecting for damage/quality, maintaining precise inventory records using warehouse systems, and identifying discrepancies, while adhering to safety protocols and collaborating with the warehouse team for efficient operations. They count items, build loads efficiently, document everything, and ensure products are loaded correctly to prevent damage, shortages, or overages, often requiring physical stamina and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Verify Shipments:
Check quantities, volume, weight, country of origin, and items against invoices, manifests, bills of lading, or order forms for inbound deliveries and outbound loads. - Inspect for Quality:
Look for damaged, incorrect, or expired products, ensuring only saleable goods are processed. Inspect all pallets and ensure compliance with international marking requirements for southbound shipments. - Inventory Accuracy:
Keep detailed records, assist with cycle counts, and use inventory software to maintain precise stock levels. - Document and Report:
Maintain detailed records of all verified data, note discrepancies (shortages, overages, damages), and report issues to supervisors immediately. - Load/Unload:
Physically move products, build pallets, load trucks efficiently (oldest product first), and operate basic warehouse equipment like hand trucks. - Safety and Maintenance:
Follow all safety procedures, keep work areas clean, and ensure proper loading techniques to prevent product damage.
- Attention to Detail:
Critical for spotting errors in quantities and product quality. - Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift, push, pull, and stand for extended periods. - Teamwork:
Communicate effectively with managers, drivers, and other warehouse staff. - Technical
Skills:
Familiarity with inventory management software. - Experience:
Previous warehouse or logistics experience is usually preferred, sometimes requiring a high school diploma. - Communication:
Strong written and spoken communication; proficiency in Spanish is necessary to properly notate and identify goods and issues with shipments. - Ability to follow SOP procedures in a strict manner.
- Overtime:
Able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when required. - Knowledge:
Knowledge of Mexican Customs laws and procedures preferred. - ISO Procedures:
Familiar with ISO procedures and requirements; able to attend training in Spanish. - Additional:
Ability to stand for long periods; good stamina and good eyesight (glasses allowed).
