Chevrolet Service Technician – Class A
The Chevrolet Service Technician is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Chevrolet vehicles with a high level of technical expertise. As a Class A, manufacturer-certified technician, this role supports the service department by ensuring vehicles are repaired accurately, efficiently, and to Chevrolet factory standards.
Responsibilities
- Advanced Diagnostics — Perform in-depth troubleshooting using GM diagnostic systems, scan tools, and technical resources.
- Major Mechanical Repair — Complete complex engine, transmission, driveline, electrical, and HVAC repairs.
- Preventive Maintenance — Conduct routine services including inspections, fluid services, and system checks.
- Factory Procedures — Follow all GM repair guidelines, bulletins, and warranty processes.
- Quality Control — Verify repairs through road tests and post-service inspections to ensure safety and performance.
- Customer Communication — Provide clear explanations of findings and recommended repairs when needed.
- Team Collaboration — Work closely with service advisors, parts staff, and fellow technicians to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Shop Safety — Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with dealership and OSHA standards.
Qualifications
- GM Master or Class A Certification
- Minimum 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience
- Strong proficiency with GM GDS2, MDI, and related diagnostic platforms
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
