Sheet Metal General Superintendent

Overview

The General Superintendent – Sheet Metal is responsible for providing overall direction for field installation of assigned projects. He/she owns direct responsibility for field labor, labor coordination, quality control, and safety on assigned project. Represents the Company on the project sites and ensures that the installation functions as designed and satisfies the contracted scope and customer.

• Attends and contributes to the various operations meetings.
• Has fundamental understanding of the estimating process.
• Blueprint reading, coordination, layout, sketching and materials take off.
• Material, tool and equipment handling which include ordering, receiving, placing and returning.
• Contract scope delineations, confirm that construction drawings and spec agree with contract scope.
• Responds to general contractor's requests concerning scope limits.
• Assists in trade stacking and phasing, influences project scheduling.
• Assists in manpower loading and maintaining the two‑week look‑ahead schedule.
• Time keeping and other administrative duties such as daily reports, submittal log, RFI status, etc.
• Ensures that safety and other company programs are implemented and effective.
• Building code compliance.
• Labor and material cost forecasting.
• Quality control.
• Monitors and mentors all field sheet metal personnel.
• Full responsibility of all field operations.

• Craft supervision experience in similar facility construction.
• Experience managing all crews.
• Advanced knowledge of how jobs are assembled in the field.
• Verifiable experience working on projects of $500K or more.
• Ability to manage to the budget, plan to the schedule, plan for the unexpected, and meet or exceed project deadlines while keeping safety first.
• Influences workers to operate in the company way and reflects the company brand.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• Versed in the industry and the company’s competitors.
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

• 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s) or office location.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Climbing stairs.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Quiet environment.
• Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range: USD $76,860.00 - USD $ /Yr.
