Early Childhood Assistant Teacher (Ages 3–6)
Garden Montessori School is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our Early Childhood Montessori program. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with young children and helping create a positive, nurturing learning environment.
Position Details- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m.–4:00/4:30 p.m. - Academic-year position with school breaks and holidays
- Montessori Early Childhood classroom serving children ages 3–6
- Supportive team environment with opportunities for training and professional growth
- Authentic Montessori Early Childhood environment (Ages 3–6)
- Mixed-age classrooms that promote independence, leadership, and collaboration
- Strong family partnerships and community involvement
- Child-centered approach focused on fostering confidence, curiosity, and respect
- Assist the Lead Teacher in maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support children during lessons, work periods, outdoor play, meals, and daily routines.
- Encourage independence, responsibility, and positive social interactions.
- Help prepare, organize, and maintain classroom materials and learning spaces.
- Supervise children and ensure their health, safety, and well-being at all times.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff members.
- Assist with classroom observations, documentation, and communication as directed by the Lead Teacher.
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
- High School Diploma required; CDA, Associate Degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, camp, or related setting preferred.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn Montessori philosophy and classroom practices.
- Must meet all Florida childcare licensing requirements.
- Supportive leadership and collaborative teaching team.
