Early Childhood Assistant Teacher (Ages 3–6)

Garden Montessori School is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our Early Childhood Montessori program. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with young children and helping create a positive, nurturing learning environment.

Position Details
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m.–4:00/4:30 p.m.
  • Academic-year position with school breaks and holidays
  • Montessori Early Childhood classroom serving children ages 3–6
  • Supportive team environment with opportunities for training and professional growth
About the Program

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Support children during lessons, work periods, outdoor play, meals, and daily routines.
  • Encourage independence, responsibility, and positive social interactions.
  • Help prepare, organize, and maintain classroom materials and learning spaces.
  • Supervise children and ensure their health, safety, and well-being at all times.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff members.
  • Assist with classroom observations, documentation, and communication as directed by the Lead Teacher.
  • Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; CDA, Associate Degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, camp, or related setting preferred.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn Montessori philosophy and classroom practices.
  • Must meet all Florida childcare licensing requirements.
