Job Description
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.
  • Evaluate and manage orthopedic and hand surgery patients in clinic and/or hospital settings.
  • Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of fractures, tendon injuries, nerve compression syndromes, arthritis, and other upper extremity conditions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with orthopedic hand surgeons.
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including wound assessments and follow‑up visits.
  • Order, interpret, and review diagnostic studies, laboratory results, and imaging.
  • Perform procedures within the APRN scope of practice and organizational guidelines.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery expectations, rehabilitation, and injury prevention.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, nursing teams, and other specialists.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of orthopedic and hand surgery practices, procedures, and patient management.
  • Ability to evaluate, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal and upper extremity conditions.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to interpret diagnostic tests, imaging studies, and laboratory results.
  • Knowledge of preoperative and postoperative orthopedic patient care.
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with orthopedic surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and clinical documentation.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient‑centered care aligned with Advent Health's whole‑person care philosophy.
Education
  • Master's of Nursing [Required]
Work Experience
  • 1+ year of related work experience [Required]
