Security Lieutenant

Position Summary

Provides for protection and security of hospital assets and for the patients, visitors, and guests.

• Maintain order, discipline, and security within assigned areas in the absence of the shift Captain.
• Assist with the training of new officers and on-going training for current officers.
• Provide input to the Captain for Security Officers’ performance reviews.
• Communicate proper information regarding patient or non-patient needs to security team members.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word for report writing purposes.

• Must obtain a State of Florida Class “D” Security Officer License within 120 days of hire; renew biannually before expiration.
• Must obtain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification within 120 days of hire; renew annually before expiration.
• Must obtain a Basic Security Officer Certification or higher level of certification through the International Association of Hospital Security and Safety within 120 days of hire and maintain during employment.
