Cox Automotive – Driver I (Non‑DOT, Individual Contributor)
Compensation: $14.67 hourly, eligible for commission or incentive programs.
Job SummaryThis position is responsible for the safe moving, staging, and parking of vehicles on auction property, driving to and from auction lots and customer businesses, and driving through auction sale lanes on sale days, following auction safety rules.
Responsibilities- Drive vehicles through auction lanes on sale day safely.
- Transport vehicles to and from designated areas on auction premises, customer dealerships, and businesses, complying with driving rules and demonstrating courtesy.
- Line up and park vehicles in correct order, move vehicles as directed, locate missing vehicles.
- Assist with vehicle operation (inflation, jump‑start) and notify supervisor of inoperative vehicles.
- Assist customers and coworkers as needed.
- Follow all safety and health procedures and support Safety Excellence initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Valid driver’s license; must be able to enter and exit vehicles constantly.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods, walk long distances, stand, reach, talk and hear.
- Frequent ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
- Ability to lift 1–15 pounds.
- Vision: close, distance, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
- Previous auction experience (preferred).
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moderate noise.
Drug TestingPre‑employment drug test required; marijuana testing not administered. The position is drug‑free workplace; possession or use of illegal drugs during work hours prohibited.
