Dean of Students, Albert
A. Sheen Campus
Reports directly to the Vice President of Student Success and Innovation (VPSSI). Responsible for fostering a campus environment that promotes student personal growth, character, leadership development, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the Division of Student Affairs personnel and programming, including new student orientation, counseling & placement, student employment, health services, student governance, leadership development, student activities, residence life, food services, discipline/judicial affairs, and services for students with special needs.
- Plan, execute, and evaluate student affairs programs, events, and services to meet university goals.
- Recruit, train, direct, and evaluate staff within the division.
- Exercise initiative and judgment in planning and carrying out assignments; assess situations and take appropriate action.
- Represent the university at major campus events and programs focusing on student engagement.
- Coordinate with the VPSSI and other university leadership on policies and initiatives affecting student affairs.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate in Higher Education, Counseling, Psychology, or related field with at least 3 years of Student Affairs administration experience, including at least 1 year of increasing responsibility.
- Or, Master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Psychology, or related field with at least 5 years of Student Affairs administration experience, including at least 3 years of increasing responsibility.
- Knowledge of higher education policies, Federal and State regulations, and institutional goals.
- Excellent leadership, managerial, communication, collaboration, conflict resolution, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to maintain staff morale, diversity sensitivity, and to foster an environment conducive to service and instructional innovation.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic setting and to allocate resources effectively.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.

Physical Demands
- Visual and manual ability required for computer work most of the day.
- Must be able to travel for meetings, conferences, and training.
- Must maintain self‑motivated composure at all times.
Salary
$80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per annum (Full Time).
