Position SummaryWe are seeking a Project Manager Co-op to work out of our West Allis, WI office starting May 25, 2026
. This position will be responsible for Project Management activities to learn and understand the operations of the business as it relates to engineering, project management, production operations and/or OEM parts.
This position includes processing small projects, under the direction of more experienced Project Management staff to learn and understand a wide variety of rotating generating equipment, as well as working closely with other engineers, shop operations, field operations and project management personnel to understand and assist in the execution of customer service projects.
This position will learn the process for overall coordination of and execution of small scope power generation services and repairs. This job involves working with customers, shop operations, engineering, and outside vendors. Responsibilities include learning the process for bidding and proposal information development.
Essential Duties- Learn how steam turbines and generators are designed and repaired
- Receive and read customer requests for proposals, review with TAES Mentor, then gather information from all available resources to generate proposals to be presented to our customers
- Work closely with a TAES Mentor to manage project execution for services on steam turbines, valves, and electric generators.
- Maintain project budgets and report cash flow and invoicing forecasts to accounting
- Work closely with Engineering Groups to understand repair recommendations to be communicated to customers through additional work authorizations.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field preferred
The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The majority of this work takes place in an office and the work environment is that of a typical office environment in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are usually moderate. Frequently the employee will interact with personnel in the plant where he/she may be exposed to higher noise levels.
