About

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Division Manager to provide operational and strategic leadership for our construction division. This role is responsible for driving profitability, operational excellence, team development, and exceptional customer service across all projects and delivery systems within the division. Reporting to the Vice President
, the Division Manager plays a key role in shaping growth strategies, improving processes, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the division, ensuring alignment with company goals
  • Identify and pursue bid opportunities through client relationships, networking, and public/private postings
  • Ensure all projects are executed safely, on/under budget, and within established timelines
  • Promote and enforce strong safety practices throughout bidding and project execution
  • Drive operational efficiency by introducing and implementing new processes and technologies
  • Monitor progress toward annual goals and adjust execution strategies as needed
  • Oversee and develop division staff, including goal-setting, performance reviews, mentoring, and coaching
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure employee needs and support are addressed in a timely manner
  • Manage division budget and profitability, including margin structure and cost control
  • Develop and execute growth strategies to expand sales and the customer base
  • Stay informed on market trends and competitive activity
  • Support estimating efforts and mentor project managers and other staff as needed
  • Manage divisional Work in Progress (WIP) and report on financial performance monthly
  • Lead divisional meetings and foster clear communication across teams
  • Oversee Field Superintendents and support effective field operations
  • Build strong working relationships with field staff, project teams, and clients
  • Conduct job site visits and perform field activities as required
  • Promote a collaborative, team-oriented culture and company loyalty
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Travel between IKM Building Solutions offices in Madison, West Allis and Green Bay, WI
Qualifications Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or
  • 5+ years of related construction management experience and/or training
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to learn estimating and project management software
Communication & Leadership
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and influence employees at all levels
  • Professional, confident presenter in both group and one-on-one settings
Additional Skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Solid understanding of construction math, measurements, and standard industry conversions
  • Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information with discretion
