Position: Registered Nurse (RN): Med/Surg Oncology

Job Overview

Department: 34415 Aurora West Allis Medical Center - Med Surg: IU 6 Surgical and Oncology. Position status:
Benefits eligible. Pay range: $38.20 - $57.30 per hour.

Location:

6 South Med/Surg/Oncology, Aurora West Allis Medical Center, West Allis, Wi 53227.

Schedule & Hours
  • 36 hours per week.
  • 12‑hour shifts: 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
  • Self‑scheduling with 6‑week schedules.
  • Every third weekend and 50% holiday rotation.
  • Weekend program positions may be available.
Benefits
  • Sign‑on bonus for first‑time applicants (no prior sign‑on in past 24 months).
  • Loan forgiveness up to $21,000 over 4 years.
  • Tuition assistance up to $7,200 per calendar year.
  • Night shift differential $5.00 per hour.
  • Weekend differential $4.00 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Build foundational skills and knowledge through Nurse Residency and Preceptor‑directed orientation.
  • Develop skills in time management, triage, communication, pharmacology, lab interpretation, and pathophysiology of disease processes across acute and chronic med/surg patients.
  • Coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care per established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with a resourceful multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Provide continuity of patient care during 12‑hour shifts, delivering patient‑centered, team‑minded support.
  • Be a valued member of a skilled, resilient, and versatile nursing team dedicated to quality, compassionate care.
Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
