Position – Infection Preventionist (RN)
Status: Full‑Time
Job Summary: VMP is seeking a knowledgeable and detail‑oriented Infection Preventionist (RN) to lead and oversee our Infection Prevention and Control Program within our skilled nursing facility. This role is responsible for monitoring infection trends, ensuring regulatory compliance, educating staff, and promoting a safe environment for residents, visitors and employees.

- Develop, implement, and maintain the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program
- Conduct surveillance, tracking, trending, and reporting of healthcare‑associated infections
- Investigate outbreaks and implement appropriate control measures
- Monitor compliance with infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene, isolation precautions, and PPE use
- Educate and train staff on infection prevention practices and regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with CMS, CDC, OSHA, State, and Local regulations
- Prepare reports for Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) meetings
- Participate in facility surveys and regulatory inspections
Participate in on‑call rotation
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Wisconsin
- CPR/BLS Certification Required
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in long‑term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or infection prevention
- Knowledge of CDC guidelines, CMS regulations, and infection prevention best practices
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience with surveillance, data collection, and quality improvement initiatives preferred
- Infection Prevention Certification (CIC) preferred (or willingness to obtain within specified timeframe)
